If you’re a smart phone user, forget about all those expensive baby monitors. This is the thing that you need!

Baby Monitor App

Possibly the most expensive App I’ve ever bought (I think it cost 5USD), it’s definitely the most useful.

For our first born, we bought the conventional baby monitor. We bought it in the UK to save money but we then had to use a converter for it here in Thailand. I can’t tell you how many times we went on holiday (domestically and overseas) and forgot the adaptors – rendering the monitors useless. Plus, these conventional monitors have a limited range and don’t work well in concrete buildings.

Well, no more! This app is wireless, requires no plug in and if both you and your partner have iPhones it can also accommodate Facetime so you can even see your baby! Just leave your phone (I recommend plugged in) in the baby’s room – you can adjust the sensitivity settings – and it will ring another designated phone if the baby makes any noise.

Seeing as how pricey video monitors can be, I think that this is a great alternative.

My name is Jodie. I'm a 38 year old Canadian working and living in Bangkok, Thailand. My husband and I are both international teachers - though I'm taking this year off to be a full-time mom.

When we're not busy with other people's kids, we try our hand at raising our own very curious nearly four year old son and his 9 and half month old brother. When it comes to parenting, like most of us, I’m making a lot of it up as I go along .

Yes, These are really very cool and work as a self protection for infants and an added advantage for the parents is that they can watch their baby’s movements and possessing baby’s talk without their presence.
